THE
REASON
There is a reason for everything.
We are born for a reason.
We may not discover this reason
until much, much later.
But the reason will come.
It sometimes emerges through
words, a thought or an experience.
Sometimes it takes a long time to
understand.
But the reason will define itself
to you.
Then you will ask it questions,
and occasionally it will reply with answers too deep for your understanding.
Eventually, you may come to the
conclusion that there is no reason.
But there is.
And it may remain silent within
you for a while, until you have taken in other circumstances.
Just know that the reason will
make demands of you.
It may demand that you set your
sights high on noble projects, on actions that will turn matters around;
responses that require common sense from you and a commitment for life.
Other times it will plead with
you; pleading that you see something from another point of view and accept it
with time.
Occasionally, it may demand that
you put aside your own quests as a sacrifice and live for a reason.
And when this happens, plans may
be shelved, dreams may be dulled and efforts may be intensified.
But reason is wise. It knows the answers.
Just trust it.
Know also that reason will never
take away hope.
Reason and hope understand each
other.
And should reason appear to
remove your hope, stay strong and wait.
Be patient.
For I am the Reason; your
loving God.
DINNER WITH JESUS
Jesus invited
me to dinner.
The request
came out of the blue.
“Of course I’ll
be there,” I texted back. “What time and
where?” I added.
It was going to
be an interesting dinner, to say the least.
Jesus had booked us an upper room.
“I want to pick
your brain,” I said to the Lord while waiting to be served. “Tell me what you honestly think.”
And so I began:
·
Why
was there so much poverty in the world?
·
Why
did tragedies happen to people?
·
Was
there any hope in the future?
At this point,
Jesus didn’t say a word.
He picked up
some bread, blessed it and broke it.
Then the Lord
invited me to accept it.
I took it...and
knew that I needed no words of explanation.
For in
accepting his invitation, I understood that my questions were an act of Faith.
Reading my
mind, the Lord looked at me with love and said,
“Where there is
Faith, there is hope. Now go to the
poor, the tragic and those without hope to be their Hope.”
THOUGHTS:
·
Jesus gives us all a task to do in life.
·
It is
always about bringing Hope to the world.
·
But we
are not alone in this task.
·
For
Jesus nourishes us with himself.
·
Nourish
yourself often in the Lord of Hope.
SCRIPTURE: Luke
24: 45-49
Then
he (Jesus) opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.
He
told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the
dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his
name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You
are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father
has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from
on high.”
The Gospel of
the Lord.
All: Praise to
you Lord Jesus Christ.
